防御性驾驶培训

Our 防御性驾驶培训 course provides insurance and point-reduction benefits – in our classroom or online – the choice is yours!  You may receive up to a four-point reduction on your driving record and a minimum 10% reduction in the base rate of your automobile and motorcycle liability and collision insurance premiums each year for three years.  Points remain on your record but are not counted in determining administrative actions.  To receive lower insurance rates, you must be listed as the principal operator of the vehicle.  The National Safety Council is the sponsoring agency for this course. Our 司机哪些 program is the 纽约 State required 5-hour course mandatory for anyone signing up for a NYS road test.  It will include defensive driving techniques, 安全带要求, and new laws affecting drivers who drink.  学生s will receive the MV-278 certificate upon completion.  学生s must have a valid NYS driver’s permit.

司机教育

司机 & Traffic Safety Education is a course implemented via a joint partnership between the 纽约 State Education Department (NYSED), and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).  The 司机教育 course is intended to educate students (age 16 or older) on appropriate driving skills and habits as well as playing a responsible role in the highway transportation/safety system.  The primary purpose of 司机教育 is defensive driving and accident prevention.  Basic skills, essential for passing the NYS Road Test and advanced techniques are taught.  学生s who satisfactorily complete the course are eligible to sit for their road test and receive the MV-285: 学生 Certificate of Completion.  学生s must have a valid NYS driver’s permit or license.

驾驶员教育时间表

Course highlights include 24 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of behind the wheel training and observation (18 hours of in-car observation and 6 hours behind the wheel).

We currently offer the course during the 仅限夏季学期 在GCC的巴达维亚校区. Course typically runs end of June/beginning of July through the middle of August. 

• Class group and driving schedules will be established during the orientation meeting prior to the start of the program.  Everyone registered will receive a memo regarding the orientation meeting.  It is required that the student or a family representative be present at orientation.
• Drive times are set up between 7:30 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
• Classroom/lecture sessions are usually held 10:00 am-11:30 am.  Please note that students may not have a classroom/lecture session every day.
• Vacation or camp days should NOT be scheduled during the six-week program.
• Make-ups are not possible due to the scheduling restraints and the need to ensure that mandated class and in car instructional hours are met.

残疾驾驶计划(IDP)

If your license or privilege to drive in 纽约 State is suspended or revoked for an alcohol or drug-related driving conviction, you may be eligible for a conditional driver’s license or full restoration of your driving privileges if you participate in 纽约 State’s 残疾驾驶计划(IDP). To enroll in the Impaired 司机 Program you must bring your driver’s license or proof of identity with payment of $75 to any 纽约 State Department of Motor Vehicle. An additional fee of $233 is required to attend the program at Genesee Community College. *所有费用可能会有变动.

作为国内流离失所者的参与者， you must attend all seven weekly classroom sessions 总共16个小时. Class participants must report to class on time and are expected to participate actively in the program, 包括完成作业. If a student misses the class they must contact the Director or Coordinator of the program to make-up this class. Failure to complete all phases (including evaluation/treatment, if required) of the program will result in loss of your conditional license. The original suspension or revocation will then be fully reinstated.
